And do good, and stay in your homes, and do not display yourselves as the former ignorance, and establish prayer, and give zakat, and obey God and His Messenger He only wants God to remove uncleanness from you, O people of the household, and to purify you with a thorough purification, and remember what is recited in your homes. Among the signs of God and wisdom is that God is Subtle, All-Aware ( 1) God, the Most High, the Great, has spoken the truth. This blessed verse is also among the evidences from the Holy Qur"an for the leadership of the Commander of the Faithful, may God"s peace be upon him.And as we mentioned last night, when we mentioned the lines on which the research must be conducted, and we drew those lines, and reminded us that the Holy Qur"an did not mention the name of anyone, and every verse infers the leadership of the Commander of the Faithful or someone other than the Commander of the Faithful, it must be referred to in its significance and in the matter of Its descent into the interpretative Sunnah of that verse, and the Explanatory Sunnah of the verse as well must be acceptable to the disputing parties fighting on such an important issue.____________1- Surah Al-Ahzab: 34.32.________________________________________ Page 9 ________________________________________What is meant by Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, in the verse of purificationSo, it is necessary to clarify what is meant by the people of the house , peace be upon them, in this blessed verse, because God Almighty says :There are two points to infer from this blessed verse:The first point: What is meant by Ahl al-Bayt.The second point: what is meant by removing uncleanliness. If the claim was made in the light of the established rules in such researches in those two points, then the blessed verse on the Imamate of Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, was inferred, otherwise the inference is not complete.Who is meant by Ahl al-Bayt in this blessed verse? Here, we must also refer to the books of hadith and interpretation, and to the words of the scholars, including narrators, commentators, and historians, in order to know what is meant by the Almighty"s saying in this verse, i.e.: Who are they addressed to Ahl al-Bayt? And we as we decided from________________________________________ Page 10 ________________________________________Before, let us return first to the Sahihs, Musnads, Sunnahs, and interpretations considered by the Sunnis. And if we go back to Sahih Muslim, and to Sahih al-Tirmidhi, and to Sahih al-Nasa"i, and to the Musnad of Ahmad ibn Hanbal, and to the Musnad of al-Bazzar, and to the Musnad of Abd ibn Humayd, and to the Mustadrak of al-Hakim, and to the summary of al-Mustadrak by al-Dhahabi, and to the interpretation of al-Tabari, and to the interpretation of Ibn Katheer, and so on. To al-Durr al-Manthoor, and other books of interpretation and hadith books:We find that they narrate on the authority of Ibn Abbas, on the authority of Abu Saeed, on the authority of Jabir bin Abdullah Al-Ansari, on the authority of Saad bin Abi Waqqas, on the authority of Zaid bin Arqam, on the authority of Umm Salamah, on the authority of Aisha, and on the authority of some other companions:When this blessed verse was revealed to the Messenger of God, may God"s prayers be upon him and his family, he gathered his family - i.e. Ali, Fatimah, Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein - and threw clothes over them and said: "O God, these are the people of my house."And in some narrations: He threw the clothing over these people, so the blessed verse was revealed. Some of the narrations state that the verse was revealed, and the Messenger of God did so.Some of them indicate that the Messenger of God did this, that is, he gathered them under a garment________________________________________ Page 11 ________________________________________So the blessed verse was revealed. The case may have occurred twice or it was repeated more than twice as well, and the verse was repeatedly revealed, and if you refer to the book Al-Itqan fi Ulum Al-Qur"an by Jalal Al-Suyuti, you will see a chapter in which some of the verses were revealed more than once, so the verse can be revealed more than once and the case is repeated. And we will read, God willing, in the following researches about the hadith of the Two Weighty Things: that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, said: "I am leaving among you two weighty things: the Book of God and my descendants, the people of my household. .And it is proven to us that the Prophet said: "Whoever I am his master, Ali is his master" more than once, even if the case of Ghadir Khumm is known. And the hadith "You are to me as Aaron was to Moses" is mentioned on the authority of the Messenger of God in the sources of Ahl al-Sunnah in more than fifteen places. We do not rule out that the verse of purification was revealed twice or more, because we are looking in the light of the hadiths mentioned, as I mentioned to you, some hadiths say that the Prophet gathered them under the cloak, then the verse was revealed, and some hadiths say that the verse was revealed, so the Messenger of God gathered the Most High________________________________________ Page 12 ________________________________________And Fatima and Al-Hasanin, and he threw the clothes on them and said: "Oh God, these are the people of my house."The conversation is in:1- Sahih Muslim (1) .2- Musnad Ahmad, in more than one place (2) .3 Al-Hakim"s Mustadrak (3) , with Al-Dhahabi"s endorsement and support for the correctionThe ruler of this way independently, otherwise it is part of his Sahih in which he stipulated, and his condition in this book was more severe than the condition of the two sheikhs in their Sahihs.6- Al-Tabari"s interpretation, where he narrated this hadith from fourteen paths (1) .7- The book Al-Durr Al-Manthur by Al-Suyuti, he narrated it on the authority of many of the great memorizing imams from Ahl Al-Sunnah (2) .The wording of the hadith included in most of its ways that Umm Salama wanted to enter with them under the cloak, so the Messenger of God pulled the cloak and did not allow her to enter, and said to her: "And you are good" or "to good" (3 ) .The hadith is also reported on the authority of Aisha (4) .Some of the wording of the hadith included the sentence that the Prophet, may God bless him and his family, sentto Fatimah, and commanded her to call upon Ali and al-Husayn, and bring them to me____________1- Tafsir al-Tabari 22/5-7.2- Al-Durr Al-Manthoor 5/199.3- Ahmad 6/292, Al-Tirmidhi, and others.4- Sahih Muslim 7/130.________________________________________ Page 14 ________________________________________The Prophet, when they gathered, threw the clothes on them and said: "Oh God, these are the people of my house," which indicates that the Prophet had a special care for this issue, and when the Messenger of God commanded Fatima to come with her husband and her two children, he did not order her to invite anyone other than these, and he had many relatives And his wives are in the house with him, and he did not even allow Umm Salamah to enter with them under the cloak. So, this case indicates a matter and status that is not generalized like Umm Salama, that respected, glorified woman who is honored by all Muslims. To this point, the meaning of Ahl al-Bayt has been fulfilled for us in this blessed verse, and this reasoning has a point of affirmation and a point of negation. As for the aspect of proof, those who were under the cloak and the verse was revealed regarding them are: Ali, Fatima, Al-Hassan and Al-Hussein only, and as for the aspect of negation, he did not allow the Prophet to be with These one.In the aspect of proof and in the aspect of negation as well, we are satisfied with the texts of the hadiths contained in the Sahihs and the Musnads and other hadiths that they stipulated for their authenticity, so those hadiths were true, and they were a source of acceptance on both sides.________________________________________ Page 15 ________________________________________The verse of purification and the wives of the Prophet, may God bless him and his familyHowever, there remains on the side of negation a discussion related to two sayings:One of them: what is transmitted on the authority of Ikrimah, the freed slave of Abdullah bin Abbas, who was insisting that the verse was revealed in particular to the wives of the Prophet, may God bless him and his family, to the extent that he used to walk in the markets and announce this opinion, and mislead people by believing that the blessed verse is exclusive to the household of the household, which proves However, the prevailing opinion among Muslims was this opinion, to the extent that he used to say: Whoever wills wills with his family that the verse is revealed in the wives of the Prophet in particular, and in the interpretation of al-Tabari: that he was calling in the markets for that (1), and in the interpretation of Ibn Katheer that he used to say: Whoever wants His family said that it was revealed about the wives of the Prophet in particular (2) , and in al-Durr al-Manthur, he used to say: It is not what you go to, but it is____________1- Tafsir al-Tabari 22/7, Ibn Katheer 3/415.2- Ibn Kathir 3/415, Al-Durr Al-Manthoor 5/198.________________________________________ Page 16 ________________________________________Prophet"s wives (1) .This is the first saying. But this saying invalidates it:First: It is an unquoted saying from one of the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and his familySecondly: A saying that is confirmed by authentic, reliable, and agreed-upon hadiths among Muslims.Third: This man was deviant in thought and action, and was hostile to the Ahl al-Bayt and one of the preachers of the Kharijites.I will remind you of a sentence from what was mentioned in the translation of this man:He was an outsider, rather one of their preachers, but the people of Ifriqiya took this opinion - that is, the opinion of the Kharijites - from Ikrimah, and because he was one of the Kharijites, Malik bin Anas left it and did not narrate from it.Al-Dhahabi said: People spoke about Ikrimah because he saw the opinion of the Kharijites. Rather, this man was reckless with religion and slandered Islam. They quoted him as saying: God only sent down the allegorical Qur"an to mislead people with it, and he said at the time of the season, i.e. the Hajj season: I wish I was in the season.____________1- Al-Durr Al-Manthoor 5/198________________________________________ Page 17 ________________________________________And I had a spear in my hand, so whoever witnessed the season objected to it, right and left, and that he stood at the door of the Prophet"s Mosque and said: There is nothing in it but an infidel, and he mentioned that he was not praying, and that he was committing a number of major sins. Many of the imams of the people stated that he was a liar, as he lied to his master, Abdullah bin Abbas, until Ali bin Abdullah bin Abbas tied him to the door of the house"s knif. It was said to him: Would you do this to your lord? He said: This man is lying to my father. On the authority of Saeed bin Al-Musayyib, he said to his master: O Bard, beware of telling lies to me as Ikrimah lies to Ibn Abbas. And on the authority of Al-Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abi Bakr, who is one of the jurists of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah: Ikrimah is a liar.On the authority of Ibn Sirin: a liar.On the authority of Malik bin Anas: A liar. And on the authority of Yahya bin Maeen: a liar.On the authority of Ibn Dhuib: He was not trustworthy.Malik prohibited the narration of Ikrimah.Muhammad bin Saad, the author of Al-Tabaqat, said: His hadeeth is not used as proof. These words are translated by Ikrimah: From the Book of Tabaqat by Ibn________________________________________ Page 18 ________________________________________Saad, from the words of the great weak by Abi Jaafar al-Aqili, from Tahdheeb al-Kamal by al-Hafiz al-Mazi, from Wafayat al-Ayyin, from the balance of moderation by al-Dhahabi, al-Mughni fi al-Dhahabi by al-Dhahabi, Siyar al-
